Case Study, Urban Studio Apartment – Bangalore

Client Background

A youth working in Bangalore currently wished to change their 500 sq. ft studio apartment into a contemporary home. Due to the high human population, the client required an interior design that would maximize the space provided for them. The goal was a clear modern and functional kitchen and a wardrobe at the same level, which fits a compact-flat apartment to optimize the use of the main space in the house.

Challenges

The first problem was that the apartment was rather small. There were coverage limitations to work within, owing to the small size of the apartment the overall space measured 500 sq. ft. It needed vital appliances, enough shelves, and a functional counter all in the small space of a kitchen. As for the wardrobe, it should function as storage for clothes and essentials and fit harmoniously in the room. Further, the client requested that the installation should not take long to complete because many city dwellers experience inconvenience in their homes due to time inconveniences.

Solution

Enter FlatBox, manufacturers of modular furniture, which were quick to offer the following solution. They suggested using High-Density Moisture-Resistant (HDMR) units, a material that was both durable, and most importantly resilient to moisture – which would most likely be present in a cooking area that is bound to splatter food particles, and exposed to humidity from using water. In contrast to ordinary plywood, HDMR does not warp and can therefore be relied upon for a long time. The customers and architects who developed FlatBox discussed the layout and design aspects of the house; the kitchen was provided with walk-in HDMR panels to make the space look lighter, and sliding wardrobes were incorporated to save space. Much storage space was provided in the form of built-in shelves and hanging rods, and yet there were clean and modern lines.

That is why FlatBox was so revolutionary the Baton Rouge project relied on a highly effective pre-fabrication strategy. In relation to this, to enhance efficiency and prevent generation of work waste, they deployed modular HDMR boxes on the installation activity. This was in consonance with the need of the client in order to provide a long time solution that requires no frequent make-over.

Implementation

The narrative of the installation was a marriage of speed and synchronization. In a span of 3 days, FlatBox altered the apartment, put together the kitchen and wardrobe with no mess. Pre-built units enabled quick assembly, making it a clear expression of the expertise of FlatBox in modular design. The client had minimal disruption to their lives, this was a major advantage for someone who had a hectic lifestyle.

Results

The outcome was transformative. The kitchen has impressive chubby HDMR cabinets which allows them to fit lots of storage and a wide countertop for meal preparation in a limited space. The wardrobe is the best way to put into good use the narrow space and establish its uniformity with the apartment itself. The homeowner said that he marveled at how fast everything was done. “The quality is at the highest level, it is exactly what I wanted. ”

Conclusion

This project brings to fore the capacity of FlatBox to deliver quality, space-saving solutions in challenging settings. Utilizing HDMR technology in conjunction with an effective, environment-friendly procedure, flatbox excelled above expectations, becoming a measurement of modular urban furniture. The turnaround of 3 days and amazing results point to their dedication to innovation and excellence in client satisfaction, demonstrating that though small spaces, it is possible to have both, beauty and functionality.
